Selamat Datang ke Malaysia or Welcome to Malaysia! Upon arrival we will travel from Kuching Airport (KCH) to Kuching City Centre which would take approximately 20 mins travel time. Upon arrival to Hotel, it is free for you to wander around.
Today we will head to Batang Ai National Park. The travelling will take approximately 5 hours from Kuching. A short en-route to Semenggoh Nature Reserve for you to gain knowledge more about one of the most endangered animals in Borneo, the Orangutan. This rehab Centre is very important for public as its objectives are to care of wild animals which have either been injured in the forests, orphaned or kept illegally as pets which after rehabilitation, the animals would eventually release back into the wild so that they can be free. Not only that, this Centre researches, conducts wildlife and captive breeding programs for endangered animals. Upon arriving Batang Ai, we will cross over Batang Ai Lake with a ferry to arrive at Aiman Batang Ai Resort. Rest for the night as there are many more to come tomorrow.
Our journey begins with a longboat ride cruising along Batang Ai Lake to visit the Iban Tribe Longhouse. The population of Iban Tribe is approximately more than 1.02 million with 70% of them are in Malaysia and the rest being scattered between Kalimantan Indonesia as well as Brunei. One of the fascinating facts about Iban’s are most of the Iban men has a tattoo on the shoulder’s. This is because they believe the traditional hand-tapped tattoos have the ability to intimidate evil spirit and has protective powers in the forms of charms. Iban people are very warm and friendly. We encourage visitors to bring along gifts such as pencils, coloring books, first aid kits or toys if possible when visiting the Iban Tribe. Enjoy our lunch with the Iban Tribe before we return to the resort to rest for the day.
After breakfast, it is free at leisure for any last minute souvenir shopping around the hotel/resort or taking photos, before we proceed to check out and transfer to the airport. We hope you return home with wonderful and memorable memories and visit us again.
