One of the best hidden islands in Malaysia with world class recognition would include a visit to Semporna Island Parks also known as Tun Sakaran Marine Park. Semporna Island Parks is located off the east coast of Borneo Island. Snorkel and swim among the colorful corals and aquatic animals such as crocodile fish, lion fish, lots of barracuda’s and many more. Itinerary
Selamat Datang ke Malaysia or Welcome to Malaysia! Upon arrival we will travel from Tawau Airport (TWU) to Hotel in Semporna City which would take approximately 1 hour travel time. Freshen up a little after our check-in. Around 15:00 hours we will head to the Mangroove River Base. Upon arrival, enjoy the quick hi-tea before we take a boat ride for a quick mangrove tour. Return back to the River Base for dinner before we continue our second boat ride to witness the mesmerizing fireflies, an amazing bug which lights up based on their natural chemical reaction inside their bodies called bioluminiscence.
Tun Sakaran Marine Park consists of 8 islands which is said to stand at par same as the Great Barrier Reef in Australia due to its immense biological diversity and marine life. After breakfast, we will start our first snorkeling trip at Bohey Dulang, one of the breathtaking wonders of Sabah Islands or hike your way up to experience the amazing view of Bohey Dulang. Climbing might not be so easy though. Enjoy the packed lunch before we head to our second snorkeling destination for today at Sibuan Island. Enjoy the snorkeling session in Sibuan where you could witness many amazing underwater creatures such as nudibranches, pygmy seahorses, lion fish and scorpion fish.
After breakfast, our first stop will be at Mataking Island, an island located at the Celebes Sea. What is interesting at Mataking Island, it homes Malaysia’s first underwater post office. Mataking is divided into two parts only by a thin strip of sandy beach which is super amazing. After enjoying our packed lunch, we will continue our snorkeling activity at Timba-timba Island. Witness a beautiful island with long white sandy beach & pristine water both on your left and right hand sight. If you are lucky, during snorkeling you might see turtles in their natural habitat.
After breakfast, it is free at leisure for any last minute souvenir shopping around the hotel/resort or taking photos, before we proceed to check out and transfer to the airport. We hope you return home with wonderful and memorable memories and visit us again.
