Perhentian literally means “Stopping Place” in Malay Language as it was once a trader’s waypoint between Thailand and Malaysia. One of the most interesting facts visiting this island is the non-existence of tar road at all. Perhentian Island consists of 2 islands which is Perhentian Besar and Perhentian Kecil. If you are much younger and love the hype of partying in an island, the best would be staying in Perhentian Kecil whereas for travelers who are more mature and tends to lay back during the holiday would normally chose Perhentian Besar to stay.
Selamat Datang ke Malaysia or Welcome to Malaysia! Upon arrival we will travel from Kota Bharu Airport (KBR) to Kuala Besut Jetty which would take approximately 1 hour travel time. We will then take an hour speed boat ride to Perhentian Islands. Perhentian Islands is divided into 2 Islands which are Perhentian Kecil and also Perhentian Besar. Upon arrival to Hotel, it is free for you to wander around.
If you are dreaming of a white pristine beach, crystal clear water, from luxurious to backpackers as well as party to secluded area, Perhentian Island has it all. If you are lucky, you might see green turtles while snorkeling because The Perhentian Islands are home to a significant green turtle nesting population. If you do not feel like snorkeling (highly recommended), feel free to jungle trek the island. Just a quick tip, being secluded far from the urbanization, our suggestion is to forget totally about Wi-Fi. It might be very tempting but trust us, connections is really slow and not worth the money to even purchase it (if required).
After breakfast, it is free at leisure for any last minute souvenir shopping around the hotel/resort or taking photos, before we proceed to check out and transfer to the airport. We hope you return home with wonderful and memorable memories and visit us again.
